Surface Preparation
Proper and thorough sanding is a critical component in preparing surfaces to receive new paint. Sanding removes flaky paint and glossy finishes, leaving a clean, textured surface that allows new paint to adhere effectively. Poor sanding leads to adhesion issues, increasing the risk of premature peeling and flaking.
After all paintable surfaces are correctly sanded, appropriate surface fillers are applied. These fillers address imperfections and damge such as nail holes, mitre joints, chips & cracks, countersunk screws, and timber knots. Once filled, these areas are sanded again to ensure a smooth, even surface ready to accept the undercoat.
Walls typically sustain the most damage through chips, cracks, and stains. Simply painting over these areas only solves half the problem, often leaving imperfections visible through the new paint. A premium result can only be achieved when the surface beneath is repaired to a high standard. We take surface preparation seriously—ensuring that all areas, from walls to ceilings, are properly repaired to deliver the best possible finish for our clients.
